This particular subclass visa allows skilled workers to live and work in designated regional areas of Australia. Eligible individuals must be sponsored by eligible family members living in designated regional areas or be nominated by a state or territory government of a specific regional area.

The subclass 494 visa is designed for skilled workers who are sponsored by an employer to work in a designated regional area of Australia. It allows the workers to work for their sponsoring employers for a period of up to 5 years and provides a pathway to permanent residency through the subclass 191 visa.

Have you recently completed your studies in Australia? Then you can utilise the subclass 485 visa to stay on in Australia for a period ranging from 18 months to 5 years and gain valuable work experience in your field.

Made available from November 2022, this visa forms a permanent residency pathway for holders of the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (subclass 491) or the Skilled Employer-Sponsored Regional (Provisional) Visa (subclass 494). Eligible applicants must have held one of the provisional visas mentioned above, lived and worked in designated regional areas of Australia for at least 3 years, and meet the minimum income threshold requirements.
